About me

I was taught to sew by hand by my lovely Mum when I was very small. At the age of 11, I graduated to using her old Singer treadle sewing machine – my legs didn’t reach previously! I practiced by hemming the linen scrim that my Dad used for cleaning the windows and turning old sheets into pillow cases. I have always loved fabrics, especially natural cottons, silks, wools and linens and colours can actually make me cry with happiness! Weird or what?

I gave up my work in an insurance office when my first daughter was born, but I didn’t like not having my own money. A friend had just moved and asked me to make her new curtains, so the idea of making curtains for a living was born. My children grew and I had various part-time jobs, all the while perfecting my sewing skills. At the beginning of 2014, my last employment came to an end and I decided to take the plunge and become fully self employed. I’ve never looked back.

I love what I do and can’t imagine doing anything else now.

Thank you for doing a magnificent job. It looks perfect here and I am thrilled.

You are a very clever lady and your high standard of work is appreciated. Thank you.
